Citigroup hiring researchers in Asia
14 June 2006
Citigroup has made over 20 hires in Asian equity research, and expects to hire up to 10 more by the end of the year.
Adrian Faure, managing director and director of Asia-Pacific equity research at Citigroup, told Finance Asia that the bank plans to expand its coverage from approximately 450 Asian stocks to 600 by year-end, with roughly one-quarter of the new names coming from India.
Citigroup has already appointed new heads of research in Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand, and has bolstered its capability in technology, consumer, internet, financials, utilities and small and mid-cap stocks.
Faure said the bank has also expanded its capabilities on the quantitative research side.
